Studio Guides

Everything you need to know to get the most out of your session.

Door Access

Your studio access code will be sent to your email automatically before your session begins. Enter the code on the keypad at the entrance to unlock the door.

Once you enter, the studio power, aircon, and LED timer will activate automatically for your full session duration. No switches to flip — just walk in and set up.

A warning light will turn on 5 minutes before your session ends — this is your cue to begin packing up. At session end, the power, aircon, and door lock shut off automatically.

Important

Do not share your access code. It is valid for your session only and expires at your end time.

Equipment Guide

All equipment is set up and ready before you arrive. Use the guides below for each piece of gear in the studio.

Amplifiers

The studio is equipped with guitar and bass amplifiers. Power each amp on using the switch on the front or rear panel.

Set your gain, EQ, and master volume to taste. Start with lower volumes and bring it up gradually — the room carries sound well.

Please note

Do not crank the master volume above 75% — this protects the speakers and your hearing. Leave all amp settings at noon (12 o'clock) when you leave.

Mixer

The mixer controls the PA system including vocals and any line-level inputs. Each channel has its own gain, EQ, and fader.

  1. Plug your microphone or instrument into the desired channel input.
  2. Bring the channel fader up slowly.
  3. Adjust the gain knob until the signal is strong without clipping (avoid red on the level meter).
  4. Use the EQ to shape your tone — cut before you boost.
  5. Bring up the main L/R faders to send signal to the PA speakers.

DI Box

The DI (Direct Injection) box converts an unbalanced instrument signal into a balanced signal for the mixer — useful for keyboards, bass, or acoustic guitars going direct.

  1. Plug your instrument into the Input jack on the DI box.
  2. Run a balanced XLR cable from the Output to an available mixer channel.
  3. Use the Thru jack to also send signal to an amp if needed.
  4. Set the ground lift switch if you hear a hum.

Aux, Bluetooth & iPad

You can play backing tracks or a click track through the PA using the aux input, Bluetooth, or an iPad.

  • Aux: Plug your device into the 3.5mm aux input and bring up its assigned mixer channel.
  • Bluetooth: The studio Bluetooth receiver is already paired — search for the studio name on your device and connect. Audio routes directly to the mixer.
  • iPad: Connect via the Lightning/USB-C to 3.5mm adapter (provided) into the aux input, or connect wirelessly via Bluetooth.

Keyboard Output Switcher

The keyboard output switcher lets you route your keyboard to different destinations — the PA, an amp, or both — without unplugging cables.

  1. Connect your keyboard outputs to the switcher inputs.
  2. Use the selector buttons to choose your output destination.
  3. Both outputs can be active simultaneously if you want to run through an amp and the PA at the same time.

Keyboard Transpose

The studio keyboard has a built-in transpose function to shift the pitch up or down in semitones without retuning other instruments.

  1. Locate the Transpose button on the keyboard panel.
  2. Press it and use the +/− buttons to shift up or down by semitone.
  3. The display will show the current transpose value (e.g. +2 or −3).
  4. Press Transpose again or hold it to reset to 0.

Cables / Do's & Don'ts

Do

  • Coil cables loosely over-under when storing
  • Unplug cables by gripping the connector, not the cable
  • Use the right cable for the right job (XLR for mics, TS/TRS for instruments)
  • Leave cables neatly in the position you found them

Don't

  • Yank cables out by pulling on the cable itself
  • Wrap cables tightly around your arm
  • Leave cables tangled on the floor
  • Force a connector that doesn't fit — check the type first

Studio Fan

The studio fan provides additional airflow during your session. It operates independently of the aircon.

  • The fan is located in the corner of the room — plug it into the nearest power outlet if not already on.
  • Use the speed dial to adjust airflow: low for background ventilation, high during intense play.
  • Please turn the fan off and return it to its original position at the end of your session.
